This Aeolian Orchestrelle is the only one known that uses the Duo-Art 176-note roll system. Ten new recut rolls are included; 125 other new rolls can be purchased, if desired. The Duo-Art was the most fully automatic system produced by Aeolian for their orchestrelles. This appears to be a late instrument (after 1925) since it contains features found only in the later orchestrelles.

This instrument was sold by Bill Edgerton of Conneticut in 1980, to a buyer in the mid-west. The keyboard folds into the orchestrelle and the roll frame doors close, providing a magnificent, automatic playing musical instrument. A blower provides maximum, hands-free enjoyment of the hundreds and hundreds of reeds as the automatic registers balance the music to perfection. Famous artists recorded their performance for the Aeolian Duo-Art system so all of the "shading" and "flavor" of the music would be presented properly.

This rare and beautiful piece is available for your personal inspection now. Additional specific information on this instrument can be reviewed on pages 777-780 in Q.David Bower's "Encylopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments".

If you ever thought of adding a magnificent orchestrelle to your collection or as a single, outstanding piece, contact us soon. This one will sell fast.
