Aeolian XY Solo Orchestrelle - SOLD

aeoliansolo This super clean Aeolian Solo Orchestrelle is one of only two we have had in inventory in over 35 years. The first one is in a Japanese musical box museum in Osaka, Japan. This recent addition to the inventory came from a large Pennsylvania estate.

The Aeolian "solo" orchestrelles can play both 58-note Grand rolls as well as the more elaborate 116-note rolls, using the double-row tracker bar system. A good supply of each type roll is included. Using the proper reed bank selections and the swell shade controls, your performances can be outstanding.

The Solo orchestrelle reed banks are divided into essentially two sections. The upper left banks essentially contain the Great reed organ while the upper right banks produce sounds of the Swell organ. There are twenty banks of reeds in the orchestrelle to produce a wide variety of organ sounds. The instrument is foot-pumped. Its seven (7) foot height will allow it to be used in any room with a eight (8) foot ceiling.

"This instrument was restored for the previous owner in 1985 in Florida (plenty of moisture). It was again "tightened up and restored" to good playing condition in the summer of 2000 (plenty of moisture). However, for good performance, this instrument should be kept in a 50% + relative humidity environment. The performance suffers if left in a "dry" environment, i.e. over a typical winter. Therefore, the asking price for this wonderful instrument has been reduced nearly $10,000 to allow for additional restoration if used in dry environments.

A personal inspection is recommended by our Shoppe for any item priced above $10,000.

Inventory Item #184 on the "Availibility and Price List".
