FRATI 43 KEY BRUDER SCALE,
ROLL OPERATED BAND ORGAN
(Kitner Collection)

i223.jpg

The collector's world was deeply saddened by the death of Master Restorer Mike Kitner in early 2001. Although his restoration work for others was beyond compare, the pieces in his private collection were magnificent.

Many of those who have attended the Mid-American summer Band Organ Rallies will fondly remember Mike displaying this organ with much pride. The European sound was pure "honey" that you could listen to all day, as I did in 1997 at the Pittsburg, PA. Rally.

We were fortunate to acquire this instrument from the estate. It was our "favorite" that was played for us during our visits to Mike's shop.

This beautiful instrument is a Model 29 Frati Concertino (former) barrel organ. Mike skillfully converted the organ to Bruder 43-key rolls (27 multi-tune new recuts included). This will provide hours of wonderful Bruder music arrangements, using the entire organ to the fullest.

The facade is spectacular, as shown in the included photo and as shown on Page 853, David Q. Bowers, "Encylopedia of Automatic Musical Instruments". We may be slow to let this one go; acquiring it has been a "dream" since we first heard it perform many years ago.
