The exterior of the case measures 4 inches high x 12-3/4 inches wide x 4-3/4 inches deep. One of the pictures reveals that the veener in a small area on the right side of the lid is worn. Inspect the pictures until you are satisfied. This is a very early box and never had a cover on the left end of the box to cover the three levers. The three levers on the left side are for (1) emergency stop to prevent a run, (2) the "off" and "on" lever, and the (3) continuous play of all tunes and the tune select for repeats. The box has been cleaned and lubricated by technicians in our shop. All brass is "bright" including the brass bedplate. The cylinder is 8 inches long and 1-3/4 inches in diameter. No pin damage is noted. The comb contains approximately 115 teeth. There have been no repairs to any of the tips or teeth and none are currently damaged. The teeth are essentially bright and clean. However there are several pin head size spots of corrosion on the comb. We plan to remove these spots if they will respond to gentle rubbing with a music box comb cleaning cloth.
The four tunes are: a. Valse Reunion ......... Strauss b. Draw The Swords ....... ?? c. Bwnor Note Minetta .... Cella Conga d. The're Gone All Gone ... ?? The tune card is original. There is a small piece of the paper tune card missing on the right top of the card. There is another piece missing on the left side of the card in the middle. See the pictures for tune card details. |
