Tangley CA-43 Circus Calliope
tangley1

It seems that every calliope ever produced was automatically a "circus" calliope, usually from Barnium and Bailey. They must have used thousands of calliopes if "claims" by sellers are all true.

The CA-43 Tangley Calliophone pictured here is from a working circus, "perhaps B&B" if the original seller's claims are true. You will note the stablizing brace around each pipe to prevent damage during frequent movement as they moved from town to town almost daily. This calliope was just restored to absolute original perfection by the master, himself, Ron Schmuck of The Great Canadian Nickelodeon Company, Ltd. of Canada.

The air pressure / vacuum blower and calliope are on separate, easily moved platforms. Both sections have been restored to original condition and are outstanding. Any buyer should have years of trouble-free rugged performance.

The blower is a Roots Connersville precision "figure eight" design attached to a 1920 Century motor. Both have been fully restored. The pictures show that the blower unit is now enclosed in a "steam boiler" complete with smoke stack topped with a steamboat stack crown.

The CA-43 plays "A" rolls (usually arranged as "Caliophone" rolls), of which six (6) are included.

The pictures should assure you that this is not "just another Tangley for sale". This one is the perfect show piece for your collection or for a museum. A buyer or a represnetative should personally inspect this instrument before deciding to purchase. This instrument is truly one-of-a kind.

Inventory Item #71 on the "Availibility and Price List".
