This Paillard music box is truly a treasure. It is one of the largest cylinder music boxes ever seen. It has six huge 17 1/4" by 3" cylinders with ten tunes each. It is in a lovely walnut case which is 49" wide by 22 1/2" deep and 16 1/2" high. The cylinders are stored in three wood cases. This music box is quite heavy.
There are seven bells, a drum, a woodblock, and a huge 28-note organ section with all the orchestral effects. The combs are fine with no damage or repairs and have been beautifully restored by expert technicians. The music box has massive twin spring barrels.
The walnut case has paneled side molding, applied decoration on the front, and matched walnut veneers on the lid (inside and out). There are large handles on either end. The pictures are of the unrestored machine. It has been restored to perfection and the end results are spectacular.
