This musical box is the finest interchangeable cylinder box we have ever added to our inventory. This Paillard Grand Format Overture box would fill even the largest library, study, den or other music room with glorious sound.

There are 6 tunes per cylinder, HOWEVER, there are two beautiful overtures on each of the THREE revolutions. Due to excellent gearing, the slow revolutions allow more than six minutes of sophisticated music per cylinder. Other overture boxes with six overtures and six revolutions produce less music per cylinder than this rare piece. With only three revolutions, the "gillion" teeth in the combs are so close together it would be difficult to slide a match book cover between them.

Each cylinder measures 17-1/4" long and a huge 3-1/4" in diameter. The cylinders are filled with familar overtures and the best from famous operas. The double (huge) spring barrels insure long performances. We have never found a more magnificent overture box in brilliant, peak condition. The pictures are worth a thousand words. We stood in line for a long time to finally acquire this piece.

The box shows no evidence of previous repairs or need for current repairs. (There has been a fairly recent full restoration by an expert musical box technician. )
